  • A big school bus (Coaster) and one million Naira worth of science and other materials were donated to the School by the then Governor of Kwara State Alhaji Mohammad Sha'aba Lafiagi
  • O.G.S. had her third major students crisis over poor feeding arrangement
  • Rev. J. B Olafimihan a one-time widely respected principal of O.G.S passed away at a ripe age in his house at Offa.
  • Ludlow Hall was renovated in preparation for the Golden Jubilee Anniversary by OGSOSA (National)
  • Six classrooms were built on top of the old science laboratories by OGSOSA (National).
  • Mr. Oyebamiji C.D was commissioned by OGSOSA to collect the data on and write the draft of the History of O.G.S.


  • Prince Oladele Olashore - (the versatile National President of OGSOSA was appointed Secretary of Finance in charge of the Federal Ministry of Finance - Jan 93)
  • O.G.S celebrated her Golden Jubilee amidst pomp and pageantry (Feb. 93.)
  • The planning committee for the Golden Jubilee celebration had Chief J. A. Falokun and Engineer Kola Oladipo as its Chairman and Secretary respectively.
  • The book - O.G.S - A fifty-year Review - was launched. Chief E.O Adesoye was the chief launcher.
  • Chief J.A Osanyin, Chief 1. A Adelowo, Rev. RN Ludlow, Lt. Gen. A Akinrinade, Hon Justice M.B Belgore, Major Gen. D.M Jemibewon were honoured by OGSOSA.
  • Chief S. O. Ajayi (First Principal OGS) delivered a lecture during the Golden Jubilee Celebration  
  • Alhaji A. O Arowosaiye was succeeded by Alh. R. O Ajala as Principal of OGS
  • Oba Charles Oladele Ibitoye - (a notable old student) became the Olomu of Omuaran in Kwara State.
  • Chief Femi Adekanye treated OGSOSA members to a dinner at his residence on the eve of the Golden Jubilee Anniversary.
  • Chief Femi Olukanmi was appointed the Chairman of 3SC of Ibadan.


  • borehole was sunk in the school by the EEC Middle Belt Programme.


  • Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari (an eminent old student) became the eleventh Emir of llorin the Kwara State capital.


  • An old student - the first Head Girl of O.G.S - Mrs M.B Jaiyeola was appointed the first female Permanent Secretary in Kwara State (Ministry of Agriculture and National Resources). Footnote - Other notable old students that served as Permanent Secretaries in Kwara State included Prince D. A. O. Abegunde, Alh. M.B Salako, Alh. T.G Akande, Alhaji G.G Jaiyeola, Mr P.AOyinloye, Chief Y. F Oyeyemi, T.A Oyawoye, Dr. E. E. Soladoye etc.
  • Barrister Lateef Fagbemi was appointed a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), the youngest Lawyer to be so appointed.


  • Prince Oladele Olashore succeeded his father as Oba, with title as the Ajagbusi Ekun of lloko Ijesa in Osun State.
  • Chief Femi Olukanmi succeeded Oba Oladele Olashore as the National President of OGSOSA.
  • Mr. Tunde Oyawoye (Old Student) became the Secretary to the Kwara State Military Government.
  • Dr. Ayo Fatubarin was appointed the Provost of the College of Education, Ilesha
  • Femi Taiwo and Taibat Olatinwo then in JSS 3 won the annual award and scholarships in the competition organised annually by the National Mathematics Centre, Abuja.  
  • The Kwara State Ministry of Education gave 5 computers and one printer to the school for the introduction of computer education in the School.


  • The legendary Principal of OGS Pa J.A Osanyin died in llesha (Feb) and was buried on May 1st at Ijebu-Ijesha - his home town.
  • On (a) above Oba Oladele Olashore entertained over one hundred old students in his house at Ijebu Jesha. Similarly Engineer Makin Osanyin - the first born of Pa J.A Osanyin and also an old student, lavishly entertained the old students too.
  • 1969/73 set renovated a block of 12 classrooms and was commissioned by the Olofa of Offa. The renovation cost the set over N400,000.00
  • The 1965/69 set of OGSOSA renovated the Principal's Office and donated a computer set to the School. The renovated office was commissioned by Oba Oladele Olasore. It cost the set over N500,000.00
  • Chief Y. A, Oyeleke treated the old students to a sumptuous luncheon in his house near Offa L.G.A Secretariat after the OGSOSA National Conference.
  • Installation of Mosquito nets and burglary proof in the Boys' Hostels.
  • Construction of a befitting furniture set for the stage of Ludlow Hall.
  • Late Ambassador Tunde Oyeteke (1952 Set) donated a hand-pump for the School borehole.


  • Mr. Jide Oyewumi was elected the Chairman of Offa LG.A. N.B Other notable old students that served as LG.A Chairmen included Chief Ayotunde Raji (Old Oyun LG.A.), Mr. Isiaku Shittu (Offa L.G.A.), Mr. Job Afolayan (Moro L.G.A), Senator Tayo Ayandele (Ogbomosho LGA).
  • Chief D.M Jemibewon (1959 set) became the first Minister of Police Affairs in Nigeira
  • Chief E.O Adesoye entertained the members of OGSOSA after the 1999 National Conference at his Residence.
  • Chief S.M Afblabi (1948/53 set) became the Minister of Internal Affairs.
  • Mr. John Dara (1971 set) was appointed Special Assistant to the Honourable Minister of Defence, Lt. Gen. T. Y. Danjuma.
  • Navy Commodore Tunde Ogundele was appointed Director of Logistics at the Defence Headquarters
  • Brigadier Gen. Yemi Brimmo Yusuf (Rtd) was elected a Senator (Oyo North)
  • Dr. Rasheed A. Alanamu was appointed the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Kwara State.
  • Chief Femi Olukanmi was appointed Sole Administrator for the 3SC Football Club, Ibadan.
  • Mr. Adisa Adelodun Ololu was appointed the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of Kwara State.
    Footnote - Other old students who had served as Civil Commissioners in Kwara State included Chief Y. F Oyeyemi, Dr. Jide Matanmi, Dr. Kolawole, Mr. Tunde Oyawoye, Dr. Moses Dele Oyebanji, Honourable Justice Tunde Belgore, Alhaji Adegboye Layi.
  • OGSOSA (Abuja Branch) was inaugurated on 14 -10 - 99.
  • OGSOSA (llorin Branch) was resuscitated on 23-10-99.
  • Alh. Yinusa Bukoye (1965 Set) was installed the new Essa of Offa.
  • Rafiat Ajala JSS One won Scholarship award to Adesoye College, Offa.
  • The broken fence near Adeola Model School Offa was rebuilt after the Chairman of Offa L.G.A. (Mr. Jide Oyewumi) and cleared the refuse dumped by the members of the public in the OGS Premises.
  • Offa Grammar School Football Team represented Kwara State in the National Shell Oil Company Football competition.
  • Alh. Bola Ajeigbe (1953 Set) donated 10 tables and 6 chairs to O.G.S.
  • Chief Shola Harris (1965/69 Set) donated the sum of Fifty Thousand Naira to O.G.S. at the National Annual Conference of OGSOSA, Offa.
  • Dr. S. O. Oyawoye and Alh. Bola Sanusi donated the sum of N20,000 each to O.G.S.
  • Mr. Kunie Alao (1977 set) was appointed a Civil Commissioner in Osun State


  • Offa Grammar School Old Students' Association lost two of its illustrious members to death via a plane crash. They were late Layi Adegboye - Chairman Kwara State Bar Association - and Late Alh. Adedeji.
  • Offa Grammar School Old Students Association (Ibadan Branch) gave a luncheon party in honour of Chief S. M. Afolabi - Hon. Minister of Internal Affairs, Chief D. M. Jemibewon, Hon. Minister, Police Affairs, Chief Adeagbo Odeniyi Special Adviser to the Governor of Osun State (26/2/200).
  • His Royal Highness Oba Oladele Olashore clocked 65 years of age. OGS and OGSOSA wished him long life and prosperity.
